Job summary

Overlanders Manufacturing LP is seeking a reliable Laser Operator Assistant to support our laser cutting operations in Abbotsford. This full-time role involves hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment within the precision sheet metal industry.

You will assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of laser equipment, handle sheet metal, perform quality checks, and help maintain a safe, organized workspace while supporting inventory and material handling.

Qualifications

• Read and understand basic technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Forklift experience and/or certification is an asset.
• Experience with basic hand tools is required.
• Basic math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Laser Operator with setup, operation, and maintenance of laser cutting equipment.
• Load and unload sheet metal materials onto the laser table.
• Perform basic measurements and visual inspections to ensure cut parts meet quality standards.
• Organize and sort finished parts for the next stage of production.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures.
• Support inventory tracking and material handling as needed.
• Regularly inspect the cut pieces for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and resolve issues during cutting, ensuring parts are correct before QC.
