Job summary

Universal Group is seeking a Lane Closure Technician to support traffic control operations across our regional projects. You will lead setup and teardown, ensure safe traffic flow, and uphold health and safety standards on site.

The role requires BC TCP certification, 6 months LCT experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of BC LCT experience.
• Current TCP certification recognized by WorkSafeBC.
• Valid Driver's License with clean record.
• Smartphone with data plan required.
• Knowledge of WorkSafeBC Traffic Control Regulations Part 18.
• Understanding of the WCB Act sections 115-117.
• Familiarity with Traffic Management Plans and MTO/INF guidance.
• Knowledge of BC Motor Vehicle Act and related regs.
• Ability to hold self and others accountable to commitments.
• Ability to collaborate and manage conflicts on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead Traffic Control personnel and oversee setup/teardown of signs and delineations.
• Set up traffic control zones and direct motorists clearly.
• Monitor work zones and adjust as scope changes.
• Report health, safety or non-compliance issues to supervision.
• Attend health and safety meetings and participate in FLRA assessments.
• Ensure PPE is worn and proper radio protocol is followed.
