Job summary

Horizon Contracting Group in Squamish, BC is seeking a Maintenance Lead Hand to support field operations and lead a crew through seasonal landscape maintenance tasks. This full-time, seasonal role offers hands-on outdoor work with a focus on quality, safety, and customer service in diverse sites across commercial, strata, residential, and municipal properties.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of landscape experience, equipment operation skills, and strong leadership, with opportunities to grow

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of landscape industry experience (or equivalent education).
Experience operating landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers).
Knowledge of local plant life.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Team-oriented mindset with natural leadership qualities.
Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

Support the Maintenance Supervisor with daily field operations.
Perform full-service maintenance: mowing, trimming, edging, hedge trimming, weeding, blowing.
Assist with occasional softscape installs.
Support winter services including snow removal and salt application.
Inspect and maintain equipment; report deficiencies.
Participate in safety meetings and wear required PPE.
Represent Horizon professionally and deliver exceptional customer service.
