The City of Vancouver, through the Board of Parks & Recreation, is seeking a Landscape Designer for temporary full-time work starting November 2026. This position focuses on support for Capital Plan project delivery including but not limited to new and renewed outdoor sport field facilities, new parks, dog off leash areas, small plazas, and park and playground renewal programs. The Landscape Designer responsibilities include preparation of public engagement material, conceptual plans, detailed designed, graphic representations and preliminary cost estimates for Park Development projects. The Landscape Designer works with senior staff to help prepare requests for proposals and tender documents to retain professional consultants and contractors for Park Development projects. The position is expected to independently inspect and document work of contractors, record meeting minutes, review contractor submittals, and report updates and recommendations for approval to senior staff.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work a hybrid work week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
