HDR in Vancouver is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our Urban Design, Planning & Landscape Architecture studio. You will develop site plans, lead design development, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver urban-scale projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering, professional registration, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino and 3D rendering tools. This full-time role offers growth within multi-disciplinary teams.

Formación

  • Ability to prepare site plans and understand grading and drainage.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop site and public realm design through all project phases from master planning to construction documentation.
  • Create illustrative concept drawings using 2D/3D tools and free-hand rendering.
  • Participate in zoning, public engagement, design reviews and programming.
  • Provide construction observation and landscape installation oversight.
  • Coordinate workload to meet deadlines and resolve conflicts with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers and other disciplines on large-scale projects.
  • Meet with client representatives as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

We are looking for a creative, team-oriented landscape architect to join our Urban Design, Planning & Landscape Architecture studio in Vancouver, BC. This position requires a versatile professional who is eager to collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams. Our design teams work with a diverse range of clients to create vibrant places ranging from urban parks, plazas and streetscapes to health or education campuses, and mobility corridors. Growth and advancement opportunities will be dependent on the successful candidate’s ability to demonstrate skills and assume responsibility.

In the role of Landscape Architect, we'll count on you to:

  • Develop site and public realm design through all phases of projects, from master planning and concept development through construction documents and construction observation.
  • Create illustrative concept drawings using 2D and 3D digital illustration tolls, free-hand drawing, and digital color rendering.
  • Participate in zoning and site plan approvals, public engagement, design charrettes, development programming, design review and implementation.
  • Provide construction observation, including field observation of landscape installation and plant selection.
  • Coordinate workload to ensure deadlines are met, reviewing documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers and other disciplines on commercial and institutional-scale planning and design projects.
  • Meet with client representatives as needed.
  • Provide excellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience working as a landscape architect / landscape designer within the region. Experience working in other regions across Canada in addition to BC is also considered an asset.
  • Professional registration, or eligibility for professional registration as a Landscape Architect in British Columbia.
  • Experience and passion for sustainable and/or regenerative design.
  • Strong planning and design skills, with experience in urban and institutional-scale projects.
  • Experience with the full range of planning and design phases including site analysis, community and site planning, conceptual development, grading, construction documentation and observation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and experience working with Revit in construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering with programs such as Rhino, Sketchup, Grasshopper, VRay, Lumion.
  • Experience with Land FX, Bluebeam Revu, and AI-assisted design visualization and rendering is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Knowledge of local plant materials, terminology and planting design in urban settings.
  • Excellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.
