Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a field operations team member in Debert, NS. The role involves loading trucks, operating tank-related equipment and performing duties across a variety of environments in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12 or GED, a Class 5 license, the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, and a commitment to safety. Prior experience with centrifuges or filter presses is an asset, and a team-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED required.
• Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in labour-intensive roles in varied environments.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
• Centrifuge or filter press experience is an asset.
• Experience cleaning industrial tanks.

• Team-oriented with strong communication.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Complying with all safe work practices and policies to ensure all work is done as safely as possible
• Truck offloading and tank farm operation

• Completing all necessary paperwork necessary for each job
• Other facility tasks and responsibilities as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of grade 12 or a GED equivalent
• Class 5 driver's license with a recent and clean drivers abstract is required
• Previous experience in a labour intensive position working in various work environments and engaged in repetitive tasks is required (i.e. confined spaces, heights, noisy and various and extreme weather conditions)
• Ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment on a shift work rotation
• Experience operating a centrifuge or filter press is an asset
• Previous experience in cleaning industrial tanks
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
• Ability to work effectively with others within a team setting
