The Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) in Toronto is seeking a Marine Services Labourer for a seasonal, outdoor role. You will support general labour, vessel movement, dock maintenance, and marine operations under the Marine Services team, in a fast-paced environment by the water.

We value safety, reliability, teamwork and a willingness to learn. Candidates should be comfortable around boats, able to lift and move items, and ready to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays from September to December.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in general labour, warehouse operations, construction, maintenance, or a similar hands-on environment and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Marine or boatyard experience is asset but not required.
  • Experience with material handling, loading, unloading, or equipment organization.
  • Forklift certification or previous forklift experience is considered an asset.
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Be comfortable working around boats and water.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to safety.
  • Willingness to learn new marine operations and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labour duties throughout the marine yard, docks, and storage areas.
  • Support vessel relocation, launch, haul-out, and seasonal storage operations.
  • Assist with the setup, removal, and maintenance of docks and other waterfront equipment.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, including the marine yard and storage facility
  • Inspect tools and equipment and report any damage, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
  • Assist the Marine Services team with basic maintenance.
  • Follow proper lifting, material-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with Members, guests, and teammates.
  • Follow all RCYC safety policies and operational procedures.

SUMMARY:

Join the prestigious Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC), a year-round private club operating from our Island and City Clubhouses in Toronto. Our Marine Services team plays a vital role in the on-water experience we deliver to our Members. As a Marine Services Labourer , you will support the team with general labour, equipment handling, vessel movement, dock maintenance, and marine operations. This seasonal, outdoor position is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, and enjoys working with boats in a fast-paced environment.

At RCYC, you’ll join a collaborative team of professionals passionate about boating, service, and safety. Hands-on experience, reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn are highly valued within our Marine Services department.

  • Must be able to swim.
HOURS OF WORK:
  • Seasonal full-time position from September to December.
  • Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Based at RCYC’s Island Clubhouse (accessible via the Club's private launch from 150 Cherry St. Parking included.)
