Job summary

The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is seeking a Dock Attendant to join the Jericho Marina team in Vancouver. The role involves general cleaning, maintenance, and support for marina operations.

You will assist with boat handling, emergency responses, and event preparations while ensuring high standards of member service. Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather, be a team player, and have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Positive, team player who can work independently and within a team environment.
• Able to stand and work for long periods of time in all weather.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Friendly and able to build relationships with our members and staff.
• Experience in boat operation, power tools, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, customer service preferred.
• Must be available on weekends and for holiday coverage if required.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning & maintenance of the marina and club facilities.
• Assisting in construction projects as needed.
• Responding to emergencies per the Emergency Response Plan.
• General maintenance of club work boats and safe operation of boats.
• Towing vessels and assisting with marina operations.
• Assisting with marina event preparations.
• Observing and reporting hazards to supervisor
• Assisting members with day-to-day operations at the marina.
• Additional duties as required.

We are seeking a Dock Attendant to join our historical Jericho Marina team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• General cleaning & maintenance
• Assisting in all construction projects
• Responding to emergencies in accordance with the Emergency Response Plan
• General Maintenance of club work boats
• Safe operation of work boats and towing of vessels
• Assist with marina event preparations
• Observing & reporting potential hazards to immediate supervisor
• Assisting members with day-to-day operations at the marina
• Additional duties as required

Pay range: Starts from $20 to $22 per hour.
