Job summary

NIS Contractors is seeking motivated and dependable Labourers to join our water and sewer crews. This hands-on role supports installation and repair of underground infrastructure, requiring physical stamina and a safety-first mindset.

You will work outdoors in all weather, assist pipe layers and operators, learn new skills, and have the opportunity for advancement in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or labour experience is an asset (but not required).
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Strong work ethic and reliability; show up ready to work.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, digging, standing).
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions; safety‑first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm systems.
• Support pipe layers and equipment operators on site.
• Load/unload materials and tools.
• Perform trench work, including shoveling, grading, and compaction.
• Help with pipe alignment, bedding, and backfilling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site.
• Follow all safety procedures, including trench and confined space safety.
• Spot equipment and assist with safe excavation around utilities.
