Construction Pipe Layer

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Construction Pipe Layer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining pipeline systems for water, sewer, and drainage projects. This physically demanding role requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare job sites for pipe installation, including excavation and site grading.
• Install various types of piping systems according to project specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment and grade of pipes during installation.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with crew members to perform backfilling and compaction of trenches after installation.
• Conduct inspections and tests on installed pipes to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform shoring and grading installations as needed.
• Clean up sites, remove rubble and debris, and complete safety checks as required.
• Track production and assist with survey layout.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
• Document daily activities and report completed tasks to management.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Pipelayer experience in civil/infrastructure construction, preferably in the areas of sewer and water.
• Prior experience as a Labourer or Heavy Equipment Operator in sewer, water and earthworks projects an asset.
• Knowledge of pipe installation techniques and materials used in sewer and water infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is an asset.
• Experience operating equipment considered a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and regulations in construction.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
