Weinrich Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Mainline Excavator Operator to join our water and sewer construction crew.

This role focuses on underground installations, digging clean trenches, holding grade, and coordinating with pipe crews to keep the project moving. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of excavator experience in underground utility projects, knowledge of trench safety, and tickets like WHMIS/CSTS.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years experience operating excavators in underground water and sewer construction.
• Strong experience digging mainline trenches for water, sewer, and storm pipe.
• Ability to maintain line, grade, and trench width to specification.
• Comfortable with lasers, grade stakes, and Topman direction.
• Experience working around live services and existing utilities.
• Solid understanding of trench safety, shoring, and ground conditions.
• Ability to work closely with pipe layers, topmen, and foremen.
• Safety-focused with strong job site awareness.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

MAINLINE EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – Water & Sewer Construction

WCL is looking for an experienced Mainline Excavator (Hoe) Operator to work on underground water and sewer installations following earthworks. This role is critical to production, safety, and accuracy. If you can dig clean, hold grade, and work smoothly with a pipe crew, we want you on our team.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 3–5+ years experience operating excavators in underground water and sewer construction.
• Strong experience digging mainline trenches for water, sewer, and storm pipe.
• Ability to maintain line, grade, and trench width to specification.
• Comfortable working with lasers, grade stakes, and Topman direction.
• Experience working around live services and existing utilities.
• Solid understanding of trench safety, shoring, and ground conditions.
• Ability to work closely with pipe layers, topmen, and foremen.
• Safety-focused with strong job site awareness.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

REQUIRED TICKETS:

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• WHMIS & CSTS 2020 (or willing to obtain).

SCHEDULE:

• 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
• 6 days on / 1 day off.
• Weather dependent work.
