Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is seeking an Arborist in Edmonton, AB for full-time, year-round work. The role involves pruning trees, supervising crews, and coordinating on larger sites with emphasis on safety and quality. On-site travel and climbing are required, with training provided where needed.

You will work as part of a dedicated, employee-owned team and receive comprehensive benefits, PPE, and industry-leading gear. A valid Class 5 license and ability to pass screenings are required.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience trimming/pruning trees in a residential setting.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with minimal demerits; air brakes endorsement is an asset.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Valid First-Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Prune trees to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches to improve structure, appearance, and safety.
  • Ensure proper pruning techniques to avoid damage.
  • Work with tree-climbing techniques or aerial lifts for larger trees.
  • Supervise arborist laborers or tree care crews during projects.
  • Coordinate and manage tasks on larger job sites, ensuring smooth operations and safe practices.
  • Evaluate site conditions and recommend best tree care practices for location.
  • Inspect tools, trucks, and equipment; request repairs or replacements when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of tree care activities and schedules.
