Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada seeks an Arborist in Calgary to prune and care for trees on residential and commercial sites. You will work with climbing gear or aerial lifts, supervise crew members, and ensure safe, efficient operations while maintaining equipment and records.

The role requires 2 years of pruning experience, a valid Canadian driver’s license, and a willingness to pass drug screening. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, with PPE and climbing gear supplied

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience trimming/pruning trees in a residential setting.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; air brakes endorsement is a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.
• Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.
• Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prune trees to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches to improve structure, appearance, and safety.
• Ensure proper pruning techniques to avoid damage to trees.
• Work with tree-climbing techniques or aerial lifts for larger trees.
• Supervise arborist laborers or tree care crews during projects.
