Job summary

Volker Stevin is seeking a Landscape Labourer to support outdoor construction landscaping, site restoration, and landscape installation in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role emphasizes teamwork, physical activity, and contributing to quality outcomes on varied projects.

Reporting to the Landscape Foreman, you’ll use small tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and uphold a strong safety culture on site while collaborating with a skilled crew. Pre-employment screening is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of landscape construction experience; masonry and fencing preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs in various weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract (≤6 demerits, no major infractions).
• Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the safety culture and promote a safe work environment.
• Support site restoration activities following utility or construction work.
• Operate small tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and move materials.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow directions from Foremen and Lead Hands to ensure quality standards.

Reporting to the Landscape Foreman, Landscape Labourers play an important role in supporting construction landscaping, landscape installation, and site restoration projects. This is a physically active, outdoor position suited for individuals who enjoy teamwork and seeing the results of their work come to life.

How You’ll Add Value

• Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
• Retaining wall construction experience
• Bricklaying/Masonry/Retaining Wall and fencing construction landscaping experience
• Support site restoration activities following utility or construction work
• Operate small tools and equipment
• Load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Follow direction from Foremen and Lead Hands to ensure quality standards are met
• Work safely around equipment and other crew members
• Assist with daily equipment cleaning and basic maintenance

What You Bring

• 3-5 years of landscape construction experience- Preference to those with masonry and fencing experience
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs in various weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
