Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I for the Northern Lights Regional Hospital Core Laboratory in Fort McMurray. The role covers hematology, chemistry and transfusion medicine with 24/7 shifts in a busy regional center.

Applicants must hold an accredited MLT program and be registered or eligible with CMLTA. A Fort McMurray allowance applies. Fort McMurray offers outdoor recreation and a strong community vibe alongside professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples.
• Perform routine and specialized procedures in specimen processing for diagnosis, treatment and research.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:

You will be comfortable seeking guidance when needed and working within your level of competence.You must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Roche Chemistry analyzers, Beckman DXU Urinalysis, ACL Elite Pro and Sysmex Hematology analyzers. Ortho Vision (Transfusion Medicine), MTS Gel System TM, Epic Beaker LIS and Wellsky is considered an asset. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
