As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:You will bring strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and respectful working relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Working in a busy 24/7 Core Laboratory requires sound judgement, effective time management and the ability to prioritize competing demands. You will be adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities and interruptions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.You will demonstrate initiative, accountability and a willingness to learn, with the ability to receive and apply feedback as you continue to develop your knowledge and technical skills. You will be comfortable seeking guidance when needed and working within your level of competence.You must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Roche Chemistry analyzers, Beckman DXU Urinalysis, ACL Elite Pro and Sysmex Hematology analyzers. Ortho Vision (Transfusion Medicine), MTS Gel System TM, Epic Beaker LIS and Wellsky is considered an asset. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
