Job description

SUMMARY

Performs routine laboratory tests under close supervision to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and understand all Must comply with Safety Responsibilities explained in the Safety Responsibility Policy (CA-ADMR-S24). Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workplace Ensure that all safety infractions are addressed in a timely manner. May interface and communicate with clients regarding the relevance, validity, and application of analytical testing performed and data generated. Maintain compliance with the Health, Safety, and Quality Management Systems requirements. Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities Perform specialized tests and calculations on reservoir and non-reservoir rock and fluid samples in order to derive accurate data necessary to compile reports concerning tests and analyses for distribution to company clients. Set up and operate various types of laboratory equipment in order to successfully complete assigned tasks. Maintain and perform minor repairs and maintenance to equipment in order to ensure equipment is functioning in the most efficient and accurate manner. Review data and calculations to assure accurate analytical results. Perform appropriate quality control guidelines in concert with the QA/QC program that is utilized in the department to assure accurate analytical results. Respond to on-call situations after normal working hours. Perform other assigned duties to ensure that projects are completed on an accurate and timely basis. Perform special projects as required or requested by superiors. Must be skilled in several aspects/services in one or more sections and be familiar with their theory and application. For example, sample and fluid log-in, project file maintenance, sample cleaning and drying, porosity and permeability measurement, brine preparation, oil cleaning, ageing of samples under oil, liquid permeability measurement, centrifuge operation, oven setup, loading a sample in core holder.

A high school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor of Science degree preferred Two years of related experience and/or training preferred
