Job summary

Core Laboratories Canada Limited in Red Deer, Alberta, is seeking a Senior CNC Operator to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining processes to produce high-precision components.

You will mentor operators, collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in daily manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years CNC experience.
  • Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and offset adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment per production requirements.
  • Monitor machine operations for quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine checks.
  • Inspect parts using measuring equipment and document results.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report machine or quality issues.
  • Maintain production records and accurate reporting.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced CNC operators.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized work area.
  • Verify material supplied is adequate for the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Senior CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining equipment to produce precision components that meet quality, productivity, and safety standards. This role serves as a technical resource for machine operators, assists with training and mentoring team members, and works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment according to production requirements.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.
  • Perform routine tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine checks.
  • Inspect parts using measuring equipment and document inspection results.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report machine or quality issues.
  • Maintain production records and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced CNC operators.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized work area.
  • Verify material supplied is adequate for job

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC experience
  • Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and offset adjustments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Skilled usage of measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of tools and ability to choose appropriate tools for job.
  • Available to work shift work.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Able to lift heavy materials.
