Job summary

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist with sample preparation for Gas Chromatography instrumentation. This role follows a Monday to Friday 8am–4:30pm schedule, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic, science-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has a post-secondary technical diploma or degree and up to two years of laboratory experience, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a technical diploma or degree.
• 0-2 years experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and reporting results.
• Proactive problem solving, clear communication and strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
• Prepare samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
• Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
• Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications.
• Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to assist with the sample preparation for our Gas Chromatography instrumentation.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm

What you will be doing:

• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
• Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments
• Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
• Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications
• Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
• Report results
• Other duties as assigned

What you bring to the table:

• Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Degree required.
• 0-2 year’s previous laboratory experience.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency using Excel and reporting results.
• Mature work ethic, with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
• Problem solving, communication, organization, and time management.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds on a consistent basis.

Work Environment:

This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
