Position at CannAmm

Job Summary

The role of the Laboratory Technician is to create value for CannAmm and its customers through superior customer service. The Laboratory Technician ensures clients feel secure, valued, and respected throughout all processes. As a member of the CannAmm Operations Team, this position may involve medical surveillance, mobile testing, RSAP, and on-call rotations (24/7). The Laboratory Technician reports directly to the Collection Site Supervisor or Manager Collection Site Services, who oversees competency, quality, operational workflow, customer service, safety, and administration. This position interacts daily with other Operations team members and maintains direct relationships with clients and donors within the CannAmm network.

Employment Type:

Contract Full-Time (ends September 26, 2025)

Shift Hours:

Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1600; on-call and Shy bladder rotation (37.5 hours weekly)

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct drug and alcohol testing in-office, including sample collection, testing, shipping, paperwork, and reporting to DER.
  2. Perform audiometric testing, vision screening, mask fit testing using Portacount, and spirometry testing.
  3. May conduct phlebotomy.
  4. May include mobile testing using the mobile unit/truck.
  5. Maintain confidentiality of all information and records.
  6. Participate in rotational on-call services for drug/alcohol testing and health surveillance.
  7. Handle web booking requests promptly and coordinate occupational testing via outbound calls.
  8. Document all call information according to SOPs.
  9. Assist with reception and data management tasks, including booking, results tracking, donor registration, faxing, and copying.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Willingness to obtain DOT Collector certification with BAT certification.
  3. Current audiometric and spirometry technician certificates or willingness to obtain them.
  4. Phlebotomy certification required.
  5. Experience in customer service within a health-related field is an asset.
  6. Travel to other collection sites may be required.
  7. Ability to be on-call evenings and weekends; reliable transportation is essential.

  3. Proficiency with Cantrak and Site Scheduler.

  5. Valid Class 5 driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation.
