Job summary

Fluid Life in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Laboratory Technician for an entry-level role focused on routine and advanced analyses of used oil, fuel and coolant samples in a modern lab. The position is permanently full-time, Monday to Friday 9:00 am–5:30 pm with a Saturday rotation every 4 weeks.

You will join a collaborative team, perform testing per ASTM and ISO methods, operate instruments and carry out data entry, QC checks, and maintain inventory.

Qualifications

• BSc in Chemistry or Chemical Technology diploma required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Experience working in a lab environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on used oils, coolants and fuels according to ASTM/ISO methods.
• Load instruments/auto samplers and perform basic equipment maintenance.
• Transfer results accurately and perform data entry.
• Identify and restock lab supplies; contribute to QC and turnaround goals.
• Ensure samples pass QC standards and run QC/blank samples.

About the role

• Fluid Life is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This is an exciting entry level opportunity perform routine and advanced analysis on used oil, fuel and coolant samples in a lab in Edmonton, AB.
• This is a permanent full-time position with working hours of Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. with a Saturday shift rotation every 4 weeks.
• You will be joining a team of lab staff working together to complete the analysis of samples received in the laboratory.

What you'll do

• Perform testing on used oils, coolants, and fuels according to ASTM, ISO and in-house methods.
• Be responsible for loading analytical instruments and auto samplers, as well as basic equipment maintenance.
• Be able to transfer results accurately, perform data entry and identify lab supplies in need of restock.
• Be accountable for your contribution to achieving turnaround time goals and quality lab testing.
• Be committed to producing quality results by ensuring samples pass QC standards and running QC/ blank samples.

Qualifications
