Job summary

Fluid Life in Edmonton, AB, is hiring a Laboratory Technician to join our team for routine and advanced analyses on used oil, fuel and coolant samples. This is a permanent full-time entry-level position with hours from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, plus a rotating Saturday shift every four weeks.

You will perform tests according to ASTM/ISO practices, load instruments, do basic maintenance, and ensure data accuracy while supporting fast, quality results.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BSc. Chemistry degree or Chemical Technology Diploma.
  • Ability to multi-task across routine and advanced analyses.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on used oils, coolants, and fuels per ASTM, ISO and in-house methods.
  • Load analytical instruments and auto samplers; maintain basic lab equipment.
  • Enter data accurately; identify lab supplies needing restock.
  • Meet turnaround time goals and maintain QC standards.

About the role

  • Fluid Life is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This is an exciting entry level opportunity perform routine and advanced analysis on used oil, fuel and coolant samples in a lab in Edmonton, AB.
  • This is a permanent full-time position with working hours of Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. with a Saturday shift rotation every 4 weeks.
  • You will be joining a team of lab staff working together to complete the analysis of samples received in the laboratory.

What you'll do

  • Perform testing on used oils, coolants, and fuels according to ASTM, ISO and in-house methods.
  • Be responsible for loading analytical instruments and auto samplers, as well as basic equipment maintenance.
  • Be able to transfer results accurately, perform data entry and identify lab supplies in need of restock.
  • Be accountable for your contribution to achieving turnaround time goals and quality lab testing.
  • Be committed to producing quality results by ensuring samples pass QC standards and running QC/ blank samples.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a BSc. Chemistry degree or Chemical Technology Diploma
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good Computer skills and knowledge of a MS-Windows platform
