Job summary

Eurofins Canada Environment Testing is seeking a Laboratory IT Support Technician to maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) configuration and support day-to-day IT needs in the Ottawa area. Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• Knowledge of LIMS or other data management software considered an asset
• Strong computer literacy and comfort with database systems
• Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical teams
• Familiarity with laboratory workflows and terminology preferred
• Ideal candidate is tech-savvy and has experience with LIMS or chemistry

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update LIMS configurations, including: Create and maintain analytical packages and custom test lists in LIMS, update, and manage regulatory guidelines
• Assist users in troubleshooting IT issues such as printer connectivity, remote connections, and network problems
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary
• Collaborate with IT and laboratory teams to ensure seamless integration of LIMS with other systems and workflows
• Participate in system validation, upgrades, and documentation processes
• Install and configure new workstations for laboratory and office environments
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment and supplies
• Provide support for special IT projects and initiatives as assigned
