Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody in the LIMS.
• Review paperwork for incoming samples for completeness and accuracy.
• Quality control of samples to ensure integrity.
• Transfer samples based on priority to custody locations.
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities including shipping, receiving, processing and administration.
• Generate reports and invoices; enter data for final client report.
• Ensure the final report is prepared and delivered to the client in a timely manner.
• Answer client questions via phone, email, or in person; act as liaison between clients and lab staff.
• Prepare and analyze air samples for asbestos content using PCM; perform QC procedures.
• Determine visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos-containing materials.
• Apply QA/QC procedures per the company manual.
• Clean, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Assume other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager.

No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff Preparation and analysis of air samples for asbestos content using PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy), and all ancillary quality control procedures Determination of visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos material Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager EMSL est à la recherche d'un(e) **assistant(e) de laboratoire** à **Montréal, QC**.
