Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Labor Maintenance and Labourer to maintain portable wash plant machinery and related equipment across our sites. Shifts include days, afternoons, and nights, with travel as required.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and support safety initiatives while ensuring efficient operations and adherence to Amrize policies and provincial rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and a valid driver's license.
• Minimum 2 years in industrial/aggregate plant maintenance and operation.
• Basic safety training including WHMIS and first aid.
• Ability to travel with portable plants as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance on conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and mobile equipment.
• Conduct inspections (daily/weekly/monthly) and carry out adjustments and repairs.
• Maintain site housekeeping and safety compliance; participate in cost-optimization efforts.
• Operate heavy mobile equipment as needed and support shift crews.

About The Role

As a member of the portable washing plant team, the Maintenance/Labourer is responsible for the daily maintenance activity and management for their specific area. The Maintenance position will execute the daily tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies. The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures. This position requires shift work (Days/Afternoons/Nights) and occasional weekend work. Travel with the portable plants as required.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Road and ramp maintenance (grading, sanding, berming, snow plowing)
• Operating heavy mobile equipment such as rock truck
• Equipment maintenance
• Overall site housekeeping (littering, fences and signs)
• Implement and lead Amrize safety standard
• Dust control/ Speed control
• Ensures and supports a good safety behavior of Customers/contractors/employees
• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed. Perform adjustments and clean up on equipment to ensure equipment runs efficiently. Perform repair on equipment as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma, Valid Driver’s license
• Required Work Experience: +2 years of Industrial/Aggregate plant maintenance and operation experience. Heavy mobile equipment operation experience is an asset.
• Required Technical Skills: First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, Confined space training, Working-at-heights training, Mechanical aptitude / extensive manual labor tasks, Specific mobile equipment training
• Travel Requirements: Required as plant moves

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
