ABOUT THE ROLE

Kickstart your career in operations management at the Coldwater Plant—one of Amrize’s most dynamic sites with both limestone and granite operations. We are looking for potential, not just experience. As our Plant Operations Coordinator, you will receive hands‑on mentorship and leadership training to become the on‑site leader for our afternoon operations. We will equip you with the skills and confidence to eventually drive the production and maintenance activities that keep our plant running smoothly.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Safety Culture: Develop and instill a site level safety culture aiming for "zero" harm; lead daily huddles, participate on the JHSC, ensure policy compliance (Working at Heights, Confined Space, etc.), assist with site audits, and administer contractor safety orientations/audits.
  • Human Resources: Directly direct the development, motivation, training, and performance management of direct reports, administer fair discipline, assist in hiring and agreement management, and practice frontline supervision.
  • Production & Maintenance: Determine manpower needs, establish weekly production/maintenance schedules, hit daily targets, assist in short-term maintenance planning/execution, and drive compliance with the Maintenance Module.
  • Mobile Fleet Management: Oversee mobile equipment inspections, defect corrections, external service reports, maintenance coordination, work orders, and subcontractor procurement.
  • Financial Management: Assist with annual maintenance budgets, monthly EBIT reviews, cost reduction identification, and inventory/production forecasting to optimize yield and minimize working capital impact.
  • Customer Focus: Assist in managing frontline shipping personnel, coordinate with sales/dispatch to meet daily customer needs, manage stockpiles, and resolve shipping quality issues.
  • Land Compliance: Execute activities per the Mining Plan and ensure site-level compliance with Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements (site plans, rehabilitation, dust control).
  • Environmental Management: Assist in developing and maintaining the site Environmental Management System (EMS), manage daily water taking data for PTTW compliance, assist with audits, and ensure environmental standard compliance.
  • Community Relations: Act as a secondary contact for relevant community stakeholders, including neighbors, competitors, and government officials.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or engineering.
  • Technical Background: A strong background in digital tools, data management, and computer programming.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Key Skills: Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills, excellent people management skills, and a disciplined, process-oriented mindset.
Additional Requirements
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Flexible Health & Dental benefits coverage for you and your dependents.
  • A generous Pension Plan designed to support you through various stages of your career and life.
  • Access to voluntary programs like RRSP and TFSA for future financial planning.
  • Healthy Living support through an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential assistance for work, health, or life challenges.
  • Easy access to mental health and well‑being support.
  • Service recognition awards to celebrate your contributions.
  • Perks & discounts on a variety of products and services.
  • Access to online learning platforms, financial educational assistance, and a culture that fosters career growth and opportunities.
