Job Opportunity: Laboratory Technician

Position Details:

• Location: 1550 United Blvd, Coquitlam, BC V3K 6Y2, Canada
• Schedule: Friday to Monday, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm
• Type: Permanent Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician conducts robust testing using titration, wet chemistry, and physical analysis techniques, while supporting logistics and efficiency improvements in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products using ICP, HPLC, ELISA, and basic lab testing methods, comparing data against specifications.
• Maintain safe work practices including cleaning, equipment maintenance, chemical handling, waste disposal, and lifting up to 15 kg.
• Participate in investigations related to lab and product excursions, including alerts, out-of-specification, out-of-trend, and non-conformance reports.
• Support process improvements and system enhancements.
• Write, review, and update QC methods, SOPs, and work procedures; maintain reference standards and participate in product specification revisions.
• Learn and utilize lab information management software (LIMS) from sample login to analysis completion.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience operating and maintaining lab equipment.
• Experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 15 kg.
• Familiarity with LIMS (asset).
• Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent (asset).
