Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is hiring a full-time Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for Kinosayo Elementary School. The position is probationary with a 30.0 hrs/week schedule, 6.0 hrs/day, Monday to Friday, at an hourly rate of 25.89 CAD under CUPE.

Required duties include supervision and supporting students with complex needs in a multidisciplinary setting. Preference given to candidates with PBS experience and post-secondary education in a related field; verbal intervention training is a plus and

• Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
• Experience using assistive technology to support student learning.
• Strong skills in managing student behavior respectfully.
• Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrated experience with students who have complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning and behavioral needs in an inclusive setting.
• Supervision duties as assigned within classrooms and common areas.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan interventions.
• Assistive technology use to enhance student learning where appropriate.

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting aFull Time, Probationary, Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for a work assignmentat Kinosayo Elementary School.

Hours of Work : 30.0hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hourly Rate: $25.89 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

• Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies


• Verbal Intervention Training is considered an asset


• Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred


• Experience using assistive technology to support student learning is an asset


• Strong skills in managing student behavior effectively and respectfully


• Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team is an asset


• Demonstrated experience working with students with complex learning and behavioral needs


• Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students in Division 1 and Division 2


• Supervision duties will also be required
