Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is hiring an Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) on a full-time temporary basis for Kinosayo Elementary School. The position offers 30.0 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

The wage is an hourly rate of $25.89 under the CUPE Collective Agreement, with an expected end date of June 29, 2027. Candidates should have experience with PBS, strong behavior-management skills and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies.
• Verbal Intervention Training is considered an asset.
• Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
• Experience using assistive technology to support student learning is an asset.
• Strong skills in managing student behavior effectively and respectfully.
• Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with complex learning and behavioral needs.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students in Division 1 and Division 2.
• Supervision duties will also be required.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning and behavioral needs in the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Help supervise and assist students during activities and transitions.
• Implement Positive Behavior Support strategies in daily routines.
• Utilize assistive technology to aid student learning where appropriate.

Hours of Work : 30.0hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Temporary

Hourly Rate: $25.89 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
