Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a part-time back-of-house cleaner at Casino Rama Resort. The role focuses on cleaning kitchens, storage areas, and restaurant spaces, ensuring hygienic storage of china, glass, and utensils across venues.

Qualifications

• WHMIS and health & safety policies must be observed.
• This role is physically demanding with long shifts and lifting up to 50 lb.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments and in wet/steamy conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchens, kitchen equipment and service areas as assigned by supervisor.
• Keep work areas free of safety hazards and debris.
• Perform duties safely and in accordance with quality standards.
• Maintain order in back-of-house areas including storage rooms and halls.
• Load and compact waste and ensure proper sorting per recycling programs.

Wages: Start Rate: $18.24 520 Hour Rate: $20.52 1 Year Rate: $22.80

The Position

To ensure the cleanliness of all back of house areas across the resort from floors, walls, fridges, kitchen equipment etc. To also ensure the cleanliness and hygienic storage of all china, glass, silver and flatware across all restaurants, bars and banquet facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleans all kitchens, kitchen equipment and service areas as assigned by supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
• Adhere to departmental quality standards.
• Maintains perfect order of all back of house areas including storage rooms, kitchens, utilities, halls and bars.
• Removes food from dishes and place dirty dishes on conveyor belt.
• Feed or unload dishes from a multitude of dish machines, ensure said machines are cleaned, rinsed and tanks refreshed as specified.
• Steam clean and scrubs tile surfaces, floors, ceilings and kitchen hoods.
• Picks up and wheels garbage pails and other waste materials from back of house areas to compactors and sorts appropriately based on the resorts recycling program
• Stocks all restaurants with plates, china, glassware and any other requirements of both the serving and culinary teams
• Loads and compacts cardboard, tin and garbage into compactors
• Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned

• This position is physically demanding. The position requires:To be on your feet for a full 8-hour shiftLifting up to 50lb of product repeatedly throughout a full 8-hour shiftWorking in a hot (105F) or cold (34F) environmentWorking in wet and steamy environment
