Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited operates Casino Rama Resort in Rama, Ontario. The Maintenance Technician will support skilled trades, performing electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs and general building upkeep.

We seek hands-on applicants with 2+ years of mechanical experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Flexible hours, including overnights and weekends, are required; gaming license may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean 3-year driver’s abstract on an annual basis (mandatory).
• A minimum of two years’ experience utilizing well-rounded mechanical skills including plumbing, electrical, drywall repair and painting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts including afternoons, nights and weekends.
• Basic knowledge of building codes, blueprints, wiring schematics.
• Building operator or trade ticket is an asset (but not required).
• Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to skilled trades and maintain the property.
• Complete service orders for basic complex-wide repairs and maintenance duties.
• Performs electrical repairs including bulb replacement and small appliance repair.
• Performs minor plumbing and HVAC repairs or facilitates vendor to do same.
• Perform masonry functions and minor carpentry pairs or facilitates vendor.
• Repair of kitchen cooking equipment when able or facilitates vendor.
• Repair and install carpeting, tiles, etc.
• Participates in snow removal, spill containment, flood response, power failures, etc.
• Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter.
• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
• Adhere to departmental quality standards.
• Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.

The Position
