Job summary

Canad Inns in Brandon, MB is seeking a Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) to manage and enhance the guest dining experience. You will monitor buffets, prepare dishes, and support the kitchen team with a friendly, professional attitude.

The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, a valid Food Handler Certificate, and strong knife skills. You may also cover Kitchen Steward duties as needed by the team.

Qualifications

• Can acquire a Criminal Background Check.

Job description

The primary purpose of the position is to act as an ambassador for the kitchen, representing all Outlets and Canad Inns. The Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) serves the public with a professional, friendly and upbeat attitude. The Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) monitors and maintains the hot and cold buffets and will take the considerations and requests of guests above all other duties. The Cook 3 may also be required to complete the responsibilities of the Kitchen Steward in the absence of one.

Important Notice: This position is located in Brandon, MB, Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Answer all guest inquiries regarding food choices.
• Anticipate and tend to all guest needs.
• Assist with the development of cost control systems to reduce waste in food, supplies, and labour.
• Assist the Cook as necessary.
• Ensure Hot Food is Hot & Cold Food is Cold.
• Cook omelets, sauté stations, prepare cold buffet, banquet salads, platters, prep, dish up food and prep where required.
• Wrap, label and date all food.
