Job summary

Canad Inns in Winnipeg is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain a clean, organized kitchen and uphold high sanitation standards. You will assist cooks and servers, help with receiving and stocking orders, and ensure all areas stay orderly and compliant with guidelines.

The role requires flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends, and you can obtain a Criminal Background Check and Food Handler & WHMIS certificates. Join a team focused on growth, training, and excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

• Dispose of waste and keep storage areas clean and organized.
• Monitor tank temperatures and chemicals as required.
• Receive and store orders; assist with receiving duties.
• Sweep and mop storage area floors and label products.

Job description

The primary purpose of the position is ensuring the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. The Kitchen Steward will maintain a proper level of clean inventory with a high standard of cleanliness according to the sanitation code. The Kitchen Steward, upon demonstrated job performance excellence, will be considered for numerous growth opportunities. The Kitchen Steward will also be responsible for receiving and putting away orders.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all sanitation guidelines;
• Assist the Cooks and Servers as necessary;
• Dispose of waste;
• Ensure all items are clean according to sanitation guidelines;
• Maintain a clean and organized work area;
• Monitor proper tank temperatures and chemicals;
• Record all breakage;
• Assist the buffet or line areas with required prep duties;
• Clean and organize all storage areas; including assisting with receiving.
• Sweep and mop storage area floors;
• Label and identify product area (if needed).
• Works in a team environment

Qualifications:

• Able to work days, evenings and/or weekends;
• Can acquire Criminal Background Check and Food Handler & WHMIS certificates;
• Clean, with good hygiene habits;
• Communicates effectively;
