Food Styling & Prep Assistant – Cured Catering

Location: Toronto, ON

Part-Time: Monday to Wednesday, 7am–1pm (with potential for more shifts)

The Role

We’re looking for a Food Styling & Prep Assistant to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves working with food, has a great eye for presentation, and thrives in a busy kitchen environment.

Schedule

• Set hours: Monday to Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Opportunity for additional shifts during busy seasons or special events

What Success Looks Like

• You create clean, visually beautiful platters that meet our styling standards
• You follow kitchen protocols and prep instructions precisely and efficiently
• You contribute to a supportive, positive, and respectful kitchen environment
• You stay calm and focused during high-volume days and quick turnarounds

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and arrange meats, cheeses, fruits, desserts, and candy
• Use knives with accuracy and confidence to slice, trim, and portion various foods
• Style trays, kits, and platters with precision and creativity
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas
• Follow all food safety and cleanliness standards
• Assist with labeling, packaging, and order assembly
• Support general kitchen duties as needed (cleaning, organizing, restocking)

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen, catering, bakery, or food styling setting is a strong asset
• Confident knife skills and familiarity with general kitchen practices
• Strong attention to detail, especially in visual presentation
• Able to work efficiently in a high-paced, high-volume environment
• Comfortable working with cured meats, cheeses, sweets, and fresh produce
• Food Handler Certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
