Job summary

Crane Lake Discovery Camp in Ontario seeks a full-time kitchen staff member to support a therapeutic wilderness program serving boys aged 10-15. The role includes preparing meals, upholding food safety practices, and cleaning duties in a small team setting.

Two-year term with training provided. Housing and meals are provided, supporting a stable, caring community at our remote camp near MacTier.

Qualifications

• Mature, dedicated Christian with a respectful attitude.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with a small team.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial kitchen experience is an asset.
• Must have a valid driver's license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety protocols using the provided certification training.
• Prepare food and clean up after each meal.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly kitchen cleaning tasks.

About Us:

Crane Lake Discovery Camp is a therapeutic wilderness program for boys aged 10-15 years. We are a private school operating on about two hundred acres of land near MacTier, Ontario, following the methodology of therapeutic wilderness camping developed by Campbell Loughmiller. We have a dedicated team of people living and working full-time at camp. They form a supportive, caring community in our remote location, and that support and care overflows to the way we care for the campers.

About This Role:

Kitchen staff fill a critical role in the care of our community, providing a warm and welcoming environment in the dining hall for campers and staff. Three meals are provided five days of the week for about 12-25 people.
