Duties & Responsibilities

As a Kitchen Manager for Jack Astor’s, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a kitchen that upholds the highest standards in food quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Managing daily production goals, food, waste, inventory, and labour costs.
  • Ordering products, stock, and supplies.
  • Building and maintaining a partnership with your team and Front of House staff.
  • Living and teaching our Values and Promises.
  • Spreading enthusiasm and energy among all of our Peeps.
  • Training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • MUST be Smart Serve Certified.
  • 3-5 years of previous kitchen management or supervisory experience in a comparable restaurant environment.
  • Culinary Red Seal designation and Smart Serve Certification are strong assets.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in computer use and learning new software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with basic math skills.
  • Ability to manage restaurants with attention to detail, hospitality, and fun, with a winning mindset and enthusiastic personality.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory, product cost, and labour control.
  • Previous scheduling experience is an asset.
