Job summary

Louise's Kitchen in Canada is seeking a dedicated cook to join our on-site team. You will prepare and cook meals, plan portions and manage food requirements to meet daily service needs.

The role requires 1 year to less than 2 years of kitchen experience, a secondary school certificate, and a reliable, detail-oriented approach to training staff, maintaining inventory, and upholding food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in kitchen or food service.

Responsibilities

  • Determine portion sizes and costs.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for realization.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • Prepare and cook meals and dishes.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with allergies or intolerances.
  • Prepare and cook special meals as instructed by dietitian or chef.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas.
  • Manage kitchen operations.
