About the Job:

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to assist with meal preparation, plating, and cooking for our hotel. This is a part-time position, primarily over the weekends.

  • Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef
  • Availability: Part Time, weekends

Starting wage is CA$18.68 during probation, increasing to CA$23.35 post-probation, and further to CA$24.10 after 6 months.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of cooking experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • Effective communication skills with guests, staff, and management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Daily Tasks:

  • Operate station, prepare and serve food according to standards in an organized manner.
  • Ensure proper authorization before issuing food.
  • Prepare banquet foods, ensuring quality and presentation standards.
  • Assist in food preparation including peeling, cutting, cooking, and storing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of workstation and equipment.
  • Participate in inventory and storage procedures, ensuring food safety and cost control.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors about any issues or discrepancies.
  • Continuously develop culinary skills and style within hotel standards.
  • Follow health regulations and food safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
