Hi-Nippon Japanese Restaurant in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Kitchen helper to assist in daily kitchen operations. The role is permanent and full time, with 2 vacancies and a wage of $17.40 per hour for 30–40 hours weekly.

Training and benefits are provided. The position requires fluency in English and the ability to perform cleaning, sanitation and basic prep tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, cabinets, storage areas, appliances and equipment.
• Handle and store cleaning products safely.
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas.
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
• Sharpen kitchen knives.
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors.
• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruits.

• The candidate must clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cabinets, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
• The candidate must be capable of handling and storing cleaning products.
• The candidate will be responsible for receiving, unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas.
• The candidate will be responsible for removing kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
• The candidate must sharpen kitchen knives.
• The candidate will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors.
• The candidate will be responsible for washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
