Job summary

Adecco Canada is currently seeking a part-time Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen and dining operations in a fast-paced food service setting. You will assist with food preparation, dishwashing, sanitation, customer service, and general dining area maintenance.

This role offers a part-time schedule with a focus on delivering a clean, safe, and welcoming experience for customers and staff. Training and benefits are provided for eligible hires.

Qualifications

  • Previous food service or customer service experience is asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods.
  • Food Safe certification is considered an asset.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Serve customers at the deli or food service counter.
  • Replenish utensils, condiments, beverages, and dining area supplies.
  • Help maintain a positive dining experience by keeping areas clean and organized.
  • Assist cooks with basic food preparation, washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
  • Wash pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Support kitchen staff with general food service duties as required.
  • Load and unload industrial dishwashers; ensure cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout kitchen and dining areas; follow health and safety procedures.
  • Clear tables and clean dining areas; collect waste for disposal; transport waste.

Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a part-time Kitchen Helper for our client. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced food service environment.

In this role, you will support daily kitchen and dining operations by assisting with food preparation, dishwashing, sanitation, customer service, and general dining area maintenance. You will play an important role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming experience for customers and staff.

  • Pay Rate: $17.60/hour

  • Location: Trenton, ON

  • Shift: Monday to Sunday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

  • Job type: Temporary |Part-time

Responsibilities:
Food Service & Customer Support
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

Kitchen Support
  • Assist cooks with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables

  • Wash pots, pans, and kitchen equipment

  • Support kitchen staff with general food service duties as required

Dishwashing & Sanitation
  • Load and unload industrial dishwashers

  • Inspect dishes, utensils, and cookware to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food service areas

  • Follow all health, safety, and food handling procedures

Cleaning & General Duties
  • Clear tables and clean dining areas

  • Collect garbage, recyclables, and food waste for disposal

  • Transport waste materials to designated disposal areas

  • Perform routine cleaning duties, including wiping tables, counters, and food service stations

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous food service, cafeteria, kitchen, hospitality, or customer service experience is considered an asset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks

  • Food Safe certification is considered an asset

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
