Job summary

Niagara Falls Marriott On The Falls is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support multiple kitchen outlets, including the restaurant and room service. You will assist in keeping all cookware and serving ware clean, sanitized and stored, while helping with plating and general kitchen operations.

You will report to the Executive Chef and must be reliable, with attention to detail, and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• Must be reliable and a self-starter.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Maintain proper sanitation of kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves and floors.
• Plating meals as required.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and standards, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Completing all assigned tasks to set standards, as instructed by a manager or supervisor.
• Maintaining the dish room in a clean and orderly manner.
• Reporting to work in proper attire and on time following clock in/out as outlined in the handbook.
• Participating in daily standup meetings.
• Demonstrating Marriott service behaviours.
• All other duties as assigned.

Located on the brink of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, the Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls is a 404 guestroom full service hotel, minutes away from area attractions, world-class wineries, golf and casinos. The Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls also offers sumptuous dining options at its on-site Milestones Fallsview Restaurant along with 23 private function rooms and boardrooms totaling over 40,000 square feet of meeting space including our 8400 sq. ft. Oakes Grand Ballroom with an additional 2700 sq. ft. foyer. We are currently seeking Kitchen Helper for our various kitchen outlets (i.e. Restaurant, Concierge Lounge, and Room Service) who has a passion for delivering outstanding service to our Guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this position is responsible for assisting in the efficient operations of the kitchen by ensuring all the flatware, chinaware, glassware, pots used in the food and beverage operations are cleaned, transported and stored in an orderly many.

What you’ll be doing:

• Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots and pans in the hotel.
• Responsible for the proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, preparation slicers, steam kettles, tables and floors.
• Plating meals as required.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and standards, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

• Completing all assigned tasks to set standards, as instructed by a manager or supervisor (while constantly seeking to improve).
• Maintaining the dish room in a clean and orderly manner.

• Reporting to work in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/ clock out as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Participating in daily standup meetings.

• Demonstrating appropriate Marriott service behaviours.
• All others duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

• Must be reliable and a self- starter.
• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• Must be reliable and a self- starter.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as cooperatively within a team setting.
• Must be a highly motivated individual.
• Outstanding attention to detail – in properly identifying cleanliness standards of pots/ dishes, cutlery, glassware

and other kitchen utensils, and level of required attention needed

• Ability to quickly respond to changing work volume; high-energy level/speed.

Kitchen experience preferred

• Must be able to work evening and day shifts including weekends and holidays.
