Job summary

Kids & Company in Ottawa is seeking a part-time Driver to ensure safe and timely transport of meals, snacks, supplies, and related items between our central kitchen and child care centres. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will represent the company with a focus on food safety and excellent service to our centres.

The role requires a valid G Class license, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver meals, snacks, and supplies to Kids & Company child care centres throughout Ottawa.
• Follow designated delivery routes and schedules to ensure all deliveries arrive on time.
• Load, unload, and transport food containers and supplies safely and efficiently.
• Verify delivery contents and maintain accurate delivery records as required.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and centre teams regarding deliveries.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist with the transportation of supplies, equipment, and materials between centres as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of meals, snacks, supplies, and other items between the Kids & Company central kitchen and our Ottawa child care centres. The Driver plays an important role in ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining food safety standards and providing excellent service to our centres.
