Job summary

Gateway Christian School is seeking an Educational Assistant to support Kindergarten learners. This temporary role runs Monday and Wednesday full days and Friday half days weekly, at Gateway Christian School in Red Deer. The position continues until June 30, 2027, or until a suitable candidate is found.

The incumbent will align with the school’s faith-based philosophy and mission. Experience with special education needs, autism, and ability to work independently are assets.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education is an asset.
• Experience with students who have special education needs and behaviour challenges.
• Candidate would ideally have experience working with Autism and complex needs.
• Comfortable working independently, with minimal guidance.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Toileting and lifting may be required.

Educational Assistant - 15 hours weekly

Commencing as soon as a suitable candidate is found until June 30, 2027

Temporary position replacing a leave of absence.

Gateway Christian School is a Kindergarten to grade 12 Christian Alternative Program in Red Deer Public Schools. The successful candidate will be supporting young learners in Kindergarten classrooms, Monday and Wednesday full days and Fridays half days each week.
