Job summary

The Upper Canada District School Board is accepting applications for a Registered Early Childhood Educator. Under the Principal’s direction, you will help kindergarten students learn and grow through planning, implementation and assessment of experiences in collaboration with the classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include coordinating with families, supporting with English and/or French settings, and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment within a CUPE collective agreement

Qualifications

• University degree in early child development or a 2-year ECE diploma.
• Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Minimum 2–3 years of recent related child care experience with current knowledge of child development.
• Assignments may include English and/or French classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver kindergarten learning experiences.
• Provide supervision and safety of students in the absence of the teacher.
• Lead group and individual activities and support learning through play.
• Maintain positive communications with parents/guardians.
• Collaborate with school staff and community partners on learning experiences for students with special needs.
• Attend staff and parent meetings and participate in assessments.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
