Job summary

The City of Markham is seeking a part-time keyboard instructor to plan, organize, and lead keyboard classes for participants from children through adults at Angus Glen Community Centre. You will create lesson plans, maintain safety, and ensure a positive learning environment while coordinating with the Recreation Supervisor.

Candidates must be at least 16, have keyboarding experience with instructional settings, current Standard First Aid or Intermediate First Aid with CPR C/AED, and High Five

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience in keyboard instruction with children and adults.
• Current Standard First Aid OR Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED.
• High Five Certificate and adherence to Healthy Child Development.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates, leads and supervises the keyboard program.
• Develops and writes lesson plans to be handed in by week two; tailors plans to group abilities.
• Prepares and organizes program equipment and supplies; maintains inventory.
• Keeps attendance records and communicates changes or cancellations to participants.
