Job summary

FortisBC is seeking a results-driven Key Account Manager for the Industrial Accounts team, focusing on Woodfibre LNG. You will manage complex contractual relationships, coordinate gas supply and demand, and work across multiple departments to ensure client satisfaction.

You will develop strategic plans to retain and grow your portfolio, negotiate terms, and communicate renewables and energy programs to customers. Flexible work options are available with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering with 4+ years energy sales/marketing experience.
  • Proven ability to build long-term sales relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand industrial engineering concepts related to energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement our business strategy to retain and grow your portfolio.
  • Present renewables and energy plan to customers and show how it meets their needs.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for our energy products, including contracts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders across the company.
  • Solicit customer feedback to improve energy offerings and services.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and continuously improve processes.

Position Overview

You're a relationship builder by nature which people enjoy working with and trust. You believe that customers are the core to achieving business objectives and treat every customer with respect, honesty and integrity to ensure their business needs are your priority. You have strong relationship building and communication skills to build and maintain client relationships. In addition, your strong financial background and contract management skills will help identify and manage commercial risks.

In this role, you will:

As a Key Account Manager within the Industrial Accounts team focusing on Woodfibre LNG, you'll put your skills to work to manage the complex contractual relationship with this client both externally and internally. This role will include a wide array of tasks and responsibilities including daily gas supply and demand to ongoing operational planning and coordination of pipeline operations. You'll use your skills to manage the contract with this exciting new customer and will liaise and work closely with many departments across the company.

  • Develop and implement our business strategy to retain and grow your portfolio.
  • Communicate our renewables and energy plan, which includes energy efficiency and renewable programs, and technological innovation, to key customers and how it meets their needs.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for our energy suite of products and services, including negotiating agreements and sales contracts.
  • Execute our business strategy for our key customers.
  • Solicit customer feedback to improve our offerings related to technology, renewables and energy efficiency programs.
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers and key internal and external stakeholders and innovate upon internal business processes.
What it takes:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, engineering or an equivalent degree from a recognized program, plus a minimum of four years related professional sales and marketing experience in the energy industry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • An excellent collaborator with a demonstrated ability to build long-term sales relationships.
  • A effective communicator with exceptional negotiation skills and talent for turning challenging conversations into positives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand engineering concepts related to industrial processes, equipment and pipeline hydraulics.
  • An innovative individual who is passionate about educating and delivering energy solutions to customers to help achieve our business objectives.
  • Valid driver's licence.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
