Job summary

Alberta Public Service in Calgary is seeking a Kananaskis East Maintenance Supervisor to lead park maintenance operations. You will supervise staff, coordinate contractors, and ensure facilities, infrastructure, and systems are safe and well maintained.

The role requires a two-year technical diploma with related experience, plus knowledge of contracting, safety, and maintenance planning. A valid driver’s licence and First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical diploma in a related field and two years of related experience in facilities or maintenance operations.
• Equivalency: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• WHMIS certification/training.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and guidelines.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, and service manuals.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and various tools.
• Knowledge of contracting processes and supervising contractors.
• Proficiency with computers and Excel; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical oversight for maintenance operations across park facilities and assets.
• Supervise maintenance staff, coordinate contractors, and manage service contracts.
• Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, repairs, and ongoing tasks.
• Develop maintenance schedules, standards, and corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Support building and utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Lead recruitment, training, and onboarding of staff.
• Create scope of work for major maintenance and service contracts and oversee RFQ/RFP processes.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, procurement, and invoice processing.
• Collaborate on lifecycle maintenance and construction-related projects.
• Promote health and safety through hazard assessments and training.

Education

Two-year technical diploma in a related field (building systems, facilities maintenance, mechanical, electrical)
