Job summary

The Kahnawà:ke Education Center is seeking a Science Curriculum Consultant to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the KEC Science Curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 11. Working with the Curriculum Team, you will align ELOs to the Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten program and provide guidance to teachers across the school system.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Science education or Curriculum Development and at least 5 years of teaching Science, with knowledge of Kanien’kehá:ka

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Science education or Curriculum Development with 5 years of teaching Science experience.
• Knowledge of Kanien’kehá:ka teachings and Haudenosaunee worldview is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Kahnawà:ke Education System and/or experience in First Nations educational systems is an asset.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Kanien’ kéha and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development (35%): Develop curriculum guides with scope and sequence for all grades; align units with the KEC program; propose new teaching materials.
• Curriculum Implementation (35%): Plan and coach teachers; support adoption of ELOs; pilot and monitor curriculum.
• Collaboration and Support (30%): Collaborate with curriculum consultants and committees; lead advisory groups; support integration of science across subjects.
