Base pay range

CA$60.00/hr - CA$65.00/hr

Job Type: 2 to 3-week contract (with possibility of extension to 3 to 6 months if the resource has Keycloak experience)

Location: Remote, must be able to work EST and be legally entitled to work in your location

Rate: $60 to $65/hr Inc.

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled JWE Java Developer to join an established development team in the banking sector where a long-term project is in its final stages. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development, particularly with JWE (JSON Web Encryption) and JWS (JSON Web Signature). This role involves working on critical projects related to open banking and digital initiatives, focusing on payload encryption and token-based security. Initially, this may be a short-term contract for a few weeks; however, if the candidate has experience with Keycloak, there is potential for extension to 3-6 months to support ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement solutions for payload encryption using JWE.
• Integrate JWE and JWS into existing Java-based banking systems.
• Collaborate with the team to build middleware applications for API request and response encryption.
• Work closely with security experts to ensure compliance with encryption standards.
• Provide technical support for ongoing projects, including open banking and digital initiatives.
• Participate in meetings to ensure project alignment and progress.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of JWE and JWS.
• Experience with Keycloak is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with token-based security and encryption techniques.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in banking or financial sectors is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Java certification is a plus.
