Job summary

University of British Columbia is seeking a Programmer Analyst I to design, code, test, and maintain software modules within Information Systems and Technology. This role reports to the Manager, Application Development and works with a broad range of stakeholders across facilities and IT teams.

The position emphasizes software development lifecycle support, documentation, and collaboration to meet client objectives, with opportunities to influence process improvements and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and at least two years of related experience.
• Preferred qualifications include web development with ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript and MS SQL knowledge.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, policies, regulations, and technical information.

Responsibilities

• Works on a variety of projects ranging in complexity, including web application modules and electronic document management.
• Maintains software used to manage records and recommends process improvements.
• Documents programming requirements and business rules; prepares specifications for workflow creation.
• Develops test cases and validates results during user acceptance testing.
• Assists in drafting and implementing policies and procedures for document management; prepares e-forms and workflows.
