Job summary

Stantec is hiring a junior Structural EIT/Jr. P.Eng in Edmonton, AB to work on small and large projects under supervision. You will assist with analyses, designs, reports, and coordination across disciplines for industries such as oil & gas, mining, and power.

You will contribute to project teams, follow quality guidelines, and support safety programs while developing your professional engineering career in a global design firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a Structural focus.
• Registered as engineer-in-training or Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Co-op/internship or up to 5 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, design codes and standards.
• Perform structural modeling and design using standard software, hand calculations and proprietary tools.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design intent.
• Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
• Assist in review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFI, prepare site observation reports.
• Assist with development of technical specifications and proposals.
• Attend project coordination meetings with team and clients.
• Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.
• Understand and follow Stantec quality control guidelines.
• Comply with Stantec's EH&S program with focus on safety in the field.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff.
